As we are running a single-income household, we are very particular and careful in terms of our expenses.
Therefore, when a friend promoted us Rockstar Gym, we were hesitant initially, already running the numbers $$$ in our head. 😅
We reached out to Rockstar Gym at Tropicana City Mall in Petaling Jaya as they recently ran a 3-day FREE trial.
THE GYM :
Located on the 2nd floor of the mall, it is a huge space consisting of several studios, gyms and 1 court (where they conduct tennis, futsal and basketball classes).
Our #1 loves the classes conducted as the coaches and assistant coaches were friendly.
The entire staff team were friendly, I must say, and they were eager to assist as best as they can.
The gym itself is kept clean as the cleaning crew is on stand-by throughout the business hours. They are quick to clean up any spills / crumbs / mess as their major clients are kids.
Most classes for kids aged 4 and above are scheduled in the afternoons when these kids return from pre-school or school where for kids aged below 4, classes are in the mornings / early afternoons.
FACILITIES :
It's also convenient to have a bathroom within the gym itself and it is clean. They do have a few cubicles of changing rooms (no shower) in the event the kids need to change their clothes, especially those taking taekwando.
A waiting lounge for parents is also available where they have tables and chairs as well as stools.
As for the Muslims who wish to perform their prayers, a surau is also located nearby but not within the gym itself.

PARKING ACCESS :
We would normally park our car at Basement 2 (B2) and take the lift from there which will bring us straight to the second floor. The basement parking also has parking spots for LADIES ONLY which is convenient especially if you're alone with your kid(s). TouchNGo is also available, however, you will need to carefully check the signage for TouchNGo when you enter OR exit the parking.

Ballerina
It was the last day of school yesterday.
At 1pm when the girls and I prepared pizza for lunch, their friends came over, rode their bicycles and waited for my girls to come out and play.
You see, their friends don't really get to play much as they're busy with school, homework and attending extra-curriculum activities.
So whenever the girls come over to play, I'd let my girls play with them.
Even though they're older than my girls, they really play well together and watch out for each other.
As they played from 1pm - 4.30pm, my 2-year old let herself back into the house to have lunch, I've also had to bathe her (again!) as the girls decided to play water gun by the pool.
Somehow, my 2-year old literally got herself drenched from top to toe.
I've also had to breastfeed the baby to sleep and PRAY that the girls would be OK playing outside by themselves.
The highlight of it all was when my 6-year old packed their artwork stuff and brought it back home.
Her drawing below, is the first ever drawing of a person (non-stick figure) and she expressed it quite well.
I immediately took out my phone to capture it before this paper becomes a victim to our baby who constantly munches on stuff or our 2-year old who always seems to find pleasure in scrunching up paper. 😂
I told my daughter that her drawing was good (because I couldn't draw like her when I was her age) and she was so excited that she told her friends.
She draws without fail every single day, creates artwork every single day, makes stuff every single day and we're glad that we found a bunch of good books from the Big Bad Wolf Sale last year on artwork / drawings / creative stuff that she's able to refer to.
We're excited to see more of her work and seeing the development in the near future.

Hide & Seek with a 2-year old and 6-years old
Our kids were playing hide & seek tonight. It was cute and hilarious at the same time.

#1 was counting so #2 went to hide.
We saw #2 head straight to our indoor swing and hid behind it, where both her small feet were clearly visible.
I guess she thinks that because she couldn't see us, we couldn't see her either.
When #1 finished counting and was set to locate her sister, #1 could easily spot her sister who was also wearing yellow PJs from afar.
Hubby and I both laughed out loud as we thought about this logic from a 2-year old's perspective. 😂

Granted that #2 wasn't really good at hiding but she was pretty smart in finding her elder sister's hiding place, to the point that it annoyed her sister who said "How come she keeps finding me? I want to be the best finder. I want her to be not clever in finding me!"
Of which, of course, we both gave her a short lecture about how if she doesn't want anyone to find her, it's probably best that she hides in her room and only come out the next day. 😑
We also added that because it's a game so these things are normal in any games and that she should be able to play well with others.

Hubby helped #2 hide behind one of the curtains.
Unfortunately, #2 wasn't comfortable standing behind the curtain and ended up making an appearance in front of her sister and said "Tadaaaaa!!!"

When it was #2's turn to hide, she chose the same spot her big sister chose previously and she even faced towards the sofa and closed her eyes.

MHsN Science Fair 2016
The Malaysian Homeschooling Network Science Fair 2016 was held on 26 March (Saturday) from 11am-5pm at Bangsar Village 1.
It was our first time going to the science fair and I must say, I was impressed with the passion shown by the homeschooled kids!
They proudly showcased their science projects and eagerly explained about their projects and demonstrated experiments to the visitors, both adults and kids alike.
The homeschooled kids even prepared homemade science kits which visitors could purchase and do their own science experiments at home.
The venue was buzzing with activities, especially when each booth (there were 20 booths in total) offered visitors interactive activities for them to try out.
It's awesome that homeschooled kids are given a platform not only to exhibit their projects but offered an avenue to hone their presentation skills and boost their confidence in public speaking and interacting with strangers.
Who says homeschooling isolates kids and that they don't socialise?
Lil' Tot is only 5 years old but to have her exposed to things like static electricity, conductivity, open and closed circuits, amongst others, were sure to pique her interest in science.
We look forward to attending the next science fair which is held annually and many more activities organised by the homeschooling network groups.

Super Compact 2 Hours of Play
The neighbour's kids were home so we decided to ask them to join us at the park this morning.
In our bag, we packed some stuff:
Water colour and brushes
Crayons
Color pencils
Construction papers
Snacks - mini pretzels, chocolate cookies and crackers
Water bottle
It's really easy to prep stuff for several kids to do as they'll all join in the fun.
As the kids arrived and we laid out all the stuff on the table, they started to colour, draw and paint.
They then proceeded to run around the park, picked up random things to bring to the table and started drawing.
Thereafter, they ran to the playground and just played on the swings, slide and monkey bar.
Eventually, they played a game of hide-and-seek but after realizing that there were limited places to hide, they started to play catch as one of the kids brought along a ball.
As the ball started rolling off a bit further from the circle they had formed, they then started to race with each other, running from one end of the park to the other.
All hands were on deck by the mothers to ensure that the kids are safe and not push/pull one another.
Throughout the entire time they were playing, of course, at times we had to become a referee and advise them not to quarrel or get them to share things etc.
We finally gave up because there were too many kids talking at the same time or showing their emotions that we decided "Oh well, we'll just let them figure things out themselves."
Which they eventually did! haha
So you'd see at one moment 2 kids would be playing while the other 2 would be throwing a sulky face and sit down on the floor, refusing to join in.
Not long after, as they realize they're missing out on the fun, they'd join back in.
And the cycle repeats.
At the end of the 2 hours (I guess it's normal that kids could play for a maximum of 2 hours before they're super tired, depending on the type of activity), all kids were red in the face, sweat profusely with stained clothes.
We had to coax them to go home and take a shower as it was nearing lunch time.
After saying their goodbyes, all kids went home with a tired but content face. :)

The Validation
Lil' Tot, The Baby and I were at our usual spot this morning, in the park.
We brought our drawing materials and some snacks.
We laid everything out nicely on a table and sat down minding our own business.
A lady with her 9-month old son approached us and started to chat.
She was on leave and works as a teacher in a nearby school.
I noticed that she paid most of her attention to Lil' Tot, asked her questions and just listened to how Lil' Tot explained things.
The lady kept telling me that she was impressed with how Lil' Tot communicated and expressed herself.
In addition, she stood by and watched Lil' Tot draw on a construction paper and at the same time, communicated with me.
Lil' Tot even started to chat with the 9-month old baby, kept saying "Awwww he's so cute!"
When the lady got to know that Lil' Tot does not attend any play school or pre-school, she was more impressed.
She even added, "If she's able to communicate like this, she does not need to go to a kindergarten anymore. She can immediately start school when the time comes."
I was like "Wow!"
On top of that, the lady said that she'd love to send her son to us so that her son could play with the kids.
I honestly told her that we mostly play and don't really focus on learning ABCs or numbers, it all depends on whether Lil' Tot wants to learn them.
The lady said, "Play is better. No need to stress out on ABCs and numbers if they aren't willing to at such an early age."
Wow, to get such a validation from a teacher really IS something! :D
I strongly believe that we're moving in the right direction and to hear such acknowledgement from a teacher further validates that we're doing something right. ;)

Aktiviti-aktiviti "Homeschool"
Di sini, kami ingin berkongsi sedikit sebanyak aktiviti homeschool kami. (Kami budak baru belajar)

"Cardboard Roll Tree"
Bahan-bahan: Tissue roll, kertas, watercolour
Di sini saya recycle paper bag je, jimat sikit kertas kan :) dan paper bag ni pun agak tebal jadi kalau guna watercolour, tak tembus kertas tu.
Saya lukis pokok berserta dahan-dahan di atas paper bag ni.
Kemudian, saya gunting tissue roll kepada beberapa bahagian dan tissue roll ini akan menjadi bentuk daun.
Lil' Tot akan membuat bentuk daun pada pokok yang saya lukis tadi menggunakan pelbagai warna.
"Invitation to Play with Scissors and Colored Papers"
Bahan-bahan: Gunting (pelbagai jenis bentuk), kertas warna
Lil' Tot diberikan kebebasan untuk membuat apa-apa sahaja dengan bahan-bahan yang saya sediakan dalam tray ni.
Sama ada dia nak buat kad atau membuat collage atau nak gunting sahaja kertas-kertas di atas menggunakan kesemua gunting yang akan menghasilkan different edges.
Di bawah ni adalah hasil daripada masa yang saya berikan kepada Lil' Tot untuk explore menggunakan gunting-gunting dan kertas-kertas warna di atas:
"Alphabet Recognition and Tracing"
Bahan-bahan: Watercolour, kertas, pensil warna
Lil' Tot tidak berapa minat untuk menulis alphabets, jadi saya menarik minatnya melalui membuat collage atau mewarna alphabets menggunakan watercolour dan pensil warna.
Insya Allah, ini dapat menarik minatnya untuk mengenali ABCs.
"Numbers Recognition and Basic Math"
Bahan-bahan: Magnetic numbers, pom pom balls, cupcake tray
Alhamdulillah, Lil' Tot sudah mengenali nombor-nombor jadi untuk mengajarnya membuat kira-kira, kami membuat aktiviti di atas.
Selain daripada mengira, Lil' Tot perlu menulis jawapan dan ini membantu mengukuhkan lagi pengenalan kepada nombor.
Lil' Tot begitu teruja untuk membuat aktiviti ini hampir setiap hari dan kami tidak memanggilnya Math tetapi "Numbers Game" :)
Budak-budak kalau sebut "game" je mesti lajuuuu nak buat kan hehehe
"Play Doh"
Play Doh ni boleh beli yang dah siap ataupun buat sendiri di rumah.
Ianya adalah satu investment jangka panjang yang amat menguntungkan kerana budak-budak suka sangat main Play Doh.
Letaklah Play Doh dengan apa-apa bahan ie set masak budak-budak, dan anda dapat menyaksikan mereka bermain Play Doh selama berjam-jam!
Apa yang menarik, dapat melihat tahap imaginasi mereka dan ibu bapa juga turut terjebak bermain bersama-sama mereka ... ahem, sayalah tu. :D

Ini lagi satu variasi untuk mengenali nombor.
Aktiviti ini memerlukan Lil' Tot melukis jumlah pom pom balls yang diatur dan mewarna sekali.
Ianya dapat membantu Lil' Tot visualise nombor mana yang lebih besar dan nombor mana yang lebih kecil.
Selain daripada aktiviti-aktiviti di atas, saya dan suami akan membaca dan baking dengan Lil' Tot.
Kami juga mengajar dia untuk solat dan mengaji.
Tapi biasalah, budak yang masih berusia 4 tahun, kadangkala dia mahu buat, kadangkala tidak, jadi kami akan pastikan jika dia hendak buat sesuatu, kami akan segera tunjuk caranya.
Jika dia tidak berminat, kami tidak akan memaksa atau memarahinya kerana lambat laun, dia akan buat juga.
Jadi kami banyak cari idea online dan IG adalah salah satu resource yang amat berguna.

Tapi biasalah, budak yang masih berusia 4 tahun, kadangkala dia mahu buat, kadangkala tidak, jadi kami akan pastikan jika dia hendak buat sesuatu, kami akan segera tunjuk caranya.
Jika dia tidak berminat, kami tidak akan memaksa atau memarahinya kerana lambat laun, dia akan buat juga.

Homeschool
Terdapat ramai homeschooling families di Malaysia yang jauh lebih berpengalaman daripada kami.
Kami budak baru belajar dan baru hendak berjinak-jinak dengan homeschooling anak kami, Lil' Tot, yang tidak menghadiri pre-school/tadika.
Insya Allah, walaupun kami tiada sijil perguruan, kami masih boleh mengajar Lil' Tot untuk:
Mengira
Membaca (mengenali huruf dahulu)
Mengaji
Solat
Life skills ie laundry, lipat baju, membersihkan rumah, cooking/baking etc
Serta (yang teramat amat amat penting) memberikan dia kebebasan untuk bermain! :D
Alhamdulillah, walaupun ramai rakan-rakan sebaya Lil' Tot sudah pergi ke sekolah, Lil' Tot tidak pula meminta kami untuk menghantarnya ke tadika/pre-school.
Dia lebih selesa untuk berada di rumah dan membuat pelbagai aktiviti bersama saya/suami ataupun dia bermain sendiri sahaja.
Macam mana nak homeschool?
Kami akan melihat kecenderungan minat Lil' Tot dan merangka pelbagai jenis aktiviti mengikut minatnya.
Disebabkan kami baru dalam bidang homeschooling ni, kami memang BANYAK membaca dan mencari resources online.
Banyak sangat artikel berkaitan homeschool dan banyak juga FB groups di mana ibubapa homeschool their own children.
Apa yang penting kalau nak homeschool ni, kena banyak cari maklumat just for you to use as a guide sebelum anda embark on your own homeschooling journey with your family. :)

Sebab kami lebih mengenali anak kami dan dapat merangka aktiviti/pembelajaran mengikut tahap pengetahuan serta yang paling penting, minat dia. :)
Kami ingin menekankan pembangunan sahsiah Lil' Tot daripada beliau masih kecil lagi, Insya Allah. :)

Amboi, macam serious bebenor definisi kat atas ni kan? Kami nak tekankan character building untuk anak kami supaya dia takdelah nak fikir pasal score A sahaja dalam semua subjects tapi character ZERO. :(
Apa yang kami harap Lil' Tot dapat belajar adalah "skills" yang boleh diguna pakai sehingga bila-bila. Dalam masa 10 tahun akan datang, kita takkan tahu what type of job opportunities are available and the skills they learn or possess now might become obsolete in the future.
Maka apa yang penting adalah untuk menerapkan di dalam diri Lil' Tot semangat dan minat untuk belajar (Insya Allah) as learning is a continuous process and does not stop when you graduate from school / college.
Kebebasan untuk membuat aktiviti-aktiviti sama ada di rumah atau bersama-sama homeschooling families on weekdays (di mana banyak tempat lengang sebab ramai budak-budak ke sekolah). Tak lupa juga, travelling with the family pada bila-bila masa, tak kira cuti sekolah ataupun tidak (amik cuti sendiri hehehe)
Selain daripada itu, Lil' Tot tidak perlu bangun pukul 7am semata-mata untuk bersiap ke tadika/pre-school. Tak boleh nak bayangkan, untuk kejutkan Lil' Tot yang memang LIAT sangat nak masuk bilik air untuk mandi ... oh tidak!
Ada jadual ke?
Takde jadual ... dia baru berumur 4 tahun jadi kebanyakan aktiviti adalah mengikut rentak dia.
Kami amat fleksibel malah Lil' Tot juga turut membantu membuat kerja-kerja rumah seperti laundry, menyapu sampah, melipat baju etc Ya, menerapkan life skill dari dia kecil lagi, bila dah besar senang sikit nak suruh buat kerja rumah. :)
Mana nak cari aktiviti?
Bagi aktiviti pula, saya mencari ilham untuk pre-school activities di IG dan telah menemui banyak ideas menarik daripada kalangan homeschooling families di serata pelusuk dunia!
Apa yang menarik, komuniti homeschool membantu antara satu sama lain di dalam pendidikan anak-anak mereka. Extremely supportive and encouraging!

Play-Doh Kind of Day
The weather is still bad and unhealthy for both Lil' Tot and Lil' Baby to enjoy any form of outdoor activities.
Such a bummer, you know, as you are a believer that kids should be outdoors and play as they learn best that way.
We've been cooped up at home for a couple of weeks now so a lot of planning has been put into scheduling Lil' Tot's daily activities indoors.
It was Play-Doh day which Lil' Tot happily took the lead.
We started the day with just lazing around in bed before breakfast.
I was half-awake from being up the previous night for Lil' Baby's night time feeds.
At times, she'll have her feed every 2 hours, but lately she's been up every hour!
Goodness, I'd find myself feeding her with my eyes half-closed but I'd be sure that I don't drop her when I pick her up from her cot.
I won't ever be able to forgive myself if I ever did!
So this lazing around gave me time to just steal 5-10 minutes more to doze off while Lil' Tot entertained her younger sister.
Once I've dragged myself out of bed, I'd hit the showers and this would get Lil' Tot to do the same too, one of the rare instances she'd offer to take a shower.
Why is it that toddlers find it really difficult to take a shower?
I mean, they'll literally find so many excuses NOT to go into the bathroom, at the point of arguing with you, and once they've finally gotten themselves into the bathroom, they'll find so many excuses to NOT leave the bathroom? *sigh sigh sigh*
Anyways, once I've done washing up, Lil' Tot would finally saunter into the bathroom and go about doing her business.
I'd take this opportunity to prepare breakfast before bathing Lil' Baby.
Once I'm done preparing breakfast, Lil' Tot would be ready by then with her clothes.
We'd both sit down to have breakfast and chat.
Once I'm done with breakfast (more like wolfing down the food before Lil' Baby starts crying), I'd pick up Lil' Baby and give her a bath.
After bath time, we'd both get ourselves comfortable at Lil' Tot's workstation and do activities together.
Lil' Tot kickstarted it with producing a few animal shapes and as we progressed, I'd ask her "Should we make a tree?" or "Should we make a river?" or "What else do you think we should add?" to engage with her and allow her to think of other things to create.
This Play-Doh activity took up the entire morning.
In between playing with Lil' Tot, I'd also have to feed Lil' Baby and get her to take naps as well, which generally means holding her throughout the session, else she'll only end up napping for 15-minutes or so.
After the Play-Doh session, we moved on to number recognition, as per the picture above.
The pom pom balls have been very useful with our number activities so far and we've found different ways to incorporate the pom pom balls in our activities.
I must confess, I'm not really good in Math so I'm hoping that this early exposure to numbers in a fun way for Lil' Tot would pique her interest to continuously learn about numbers and subsequently, Math. :)

Creative Play Activities on IG!

It has always been spontaneous and depends on what my lil' tot would like to do for the day.
However, ever since we've had Baby No. 2, we mostly spend time indoors, hence the need to plan for more activities.
My planning consists of me scouting for ideas on IG before I doze off to sleep.
I must say, it has been extremely resourceful!
Parents are sharing activities with their kid(s) on social media, tried and tested. :)
When you implement them with your own kids, you would either be able to keep them entertained for hours on end OR sometimes, just sometimes, you'd end up doing it for 5 minutes before they call it quits.
You'll then need to find another activity for them pronto, so I've learnt that it's good to have a back-up plan of some sort.

Personally for me, juggling a baby and a toddler at the same time when they both need attention is tough work, especially when I'm flying solo during the day before my other half returns home from work.
When the little ones refuse nap time, I wish I could tell them, "Can mommy take a nap if you don't want to?"
Alas, it doesn't work that way!
Nonetheless, I've enjoyed setting up activity workstations for my lil' tot and equally look forward to do the same for Baby No. 2.
I'm keen to see how they would both interact during the activities so that I could probably take a breather...wishful thinking, maybe?
Well then, we'll just have to wait and see. :D

"6 Habits of Highly Effective Parents"
I find this (Source: 6 Habits of Highly Effective Parents) beneficial especially on days when I ask myself "Am I doing this right for my child?"
Especially when other parents with kids of similar age to my child (4 years old) have started pondering (and fussing over) which play school to send their kids to.
Some have even started going to school at the age of 3, their schedule starts as early as 8.30am until 12.30pm.
On some days, they'll have replacement classes which ends until 3pm.
And the parents are so proud of their kids if their kids can learn how to read / write / count.
Whereas for me, I'm content just to see my lil' kid play and have fun and be happy and make friends and just be herself.
No pressure as to if she can already write her ABCs or 123s or Alif Ba Ta as yet.
If she wants to do something or is interested in something, hubby and I will point her in the direction of her interest.
Each parent has their own parenting style and we totally respect that. :)
We're even impressed with kids who are just 3 years old and can already write their numbers or spell!
Smart kids. :)
We strongly believe each kid develops on their own.
No point in trying to impose certain things on a child if the child isn't ready yet as they might end up not liking it.
When in doubt, I'd refer to the below, it helps as a guide to tell me that "Yup, you've got this! :)"

Sad
Assalamualaikum!
The three of us went to a jumble sale at Publika over the weekend.
Although it's a bit too early to spread the Christmas cheer but the organizers decided to hold a Christmas Jumble Sale in November.
Why not, right? :)
Apart from the sale and Christmas-themed deco along with scrumptious cookies and cakes being sold, they had a Santa Claus and story-telling session by the Julia Gabriel Centre.
Our lil' tot enjoyed her time there and even crafted a mini Christmas tree (using an ice-cream cone with icing and other condiments for decoration ie M&Ms and chocolate sprinkles). It costed RM5 and the proceeds will go to charity.
She got her first butterfly "tattoo" as well! ;) It cost RM1 for the sticker and looked really pretty with pink glitter on top. :)
All went well until we went to a section which had slides and a colouring station (for free).
They provided print-outs, colour pencils, crayons stationed on tables kids can just sit on any available seat to colour.
I was holding a box of crayons when Girl 'A', probably the age of 3, came to me and said "Excuse me, that is mine" and she sat down and started colouring.
I apologized and moved away, bringing my tot along to find other available colour pencils.
Plus, my lil' tot does that ALL the time as well. Claiming something is hers when in actual fact it wasn't (normally happens in a toy store or when we have play dates at a friends')
My tot was more interested to make friends so she made her way back to the table and sat down on one of the empty chairs.
Girl 'A' approached her and requested her to move.
My tot got up and looked for another empty chair, at the same table, and joined Girl A and another girl, Girl B, who was busy colouring.
Both girls pulled their boxes containing crayons away from my tot so it was out of her reach.
I totally understand that they're just kids but seeing this just broke my heart as my daughter was just trying to make friends but none of the girls were interested.
Not long after, Girl A accidentally dropped her box on the floor so a bunch of crayons were scattered all over.
Girl A stayed put in her chair.
My tot immediately got up from her chair and started cleaning up.
Girl B, who noticed the mess, followed suit.
My tot and Girl B were both busy picking up the crayons from the floor whilst Girl A just looked on.
It was only when they had finished picking up the crayons, Girl A got up to collect one final piece of crayon from the floor which she found under a chair.
Shortly after, my tot got back to her table, wanting to colour with her new found friends.
Hubby, who was standing nearby, told our tot "Good job!" and gave her a high five.
When my tot was settling down to colour, again, she didn't have any crayons nor colour pencils to use.
Girl B's parent then requested Girl B to share some colour pencils with my tot, which Girl B willingly obliged.
Girl A's mom who was seated not far away requested the same to be done by Girl A, who reluctantly handed over the crayon to my tot.
I guess with some kids, they'd get off to a not-so-great start but they'd be playing together not long after before they stop playing with each other again.
My tot then moved on to another toy.
Girl B then joined my tot.
Girl A noticed both girls missing and saw that the two girls were having a good time, Girl A wanted to join them too.
Nevertheless, Girl A requested (again!) for my daughter to move.
I'm so proud of my dear daughter, Alhamdulillah, who let Girl A have what she wanted and my tot didn't kick up a fuss.
Girl A was trying to dictate how to play with the toy so hubby and I pulled our tot from there, telling her to say goodbye to her friends as we were also hungry and wanted to find something to eat.
As I went off to the surau to perform my prayers, hubby brought our tot to change her diapers.
Once done, I called up hubby on the mobile to locate the two.
What I found was amazing.
My tot was playing with some kids her age in a shop.
All of them had balloons in their hands so they started role-playing by using the balloons as swords. :D
As I was hungry, I told our tot that we needed to go to a restaurant to have our meal.
She said "Ok!" in a voice which only meant "I have no choice now, do I?" and said her byes to her new found friends.
At a tender age of 3, I'm unable to reason with my daughter why some kids choose not to play with her and why some kids would be more than happy to have her join them.
But as a mom, of course, it breaks my heart when I see kids pushing her away or totally ignoring her when she clearly just wants to play.
Nevertheless, I'm so happy with how my tot conducted herself (yeah, one of those good days) where she didn't throw a tantrum.
She looked so matured and I'm just truly blessed. :)

It was only when they had finished picking up the crayons, Girl A got up to collect one final piece of crayon from the floor which she found under a chair.
Shortly after, my tot got back to her table, wanting to colour with her new found friends.
Hubby, who was standing nearby, told our tot "Good job!" and gave her a high five.
When my tot was settling down to colour, again, she didn't have any crayons nor colour pencils to use.
Girl B's parent then requested Girl B to share some colour pencils with my tot, which Girl B willingly obliged.
Girl A's mom who was seated not far away requested the same to be done by Girl A, who reluctantly handed over the crayon to my tot.
I guess with some kids, they'd get off to a not-so-great start but they'd be playing together not long after before they stop playing with each other again.
My tot then moved on to another toy.
Girl B then joined my tot.
Girl A noticed both girls missing and saw that the two girls were having a good time, Girl A wanted to join them too.
Nevertheless, Girl A requested (again!) for my daughter to move.
I'm so proud of my dear daughter, Alhamdulillah, who let Girl A have what she wanted and my tot didn't kick up a fuss.
Girl A was trying to dictate how to play with the toy so hubby and I pulled our tot from there, telling her to say goodbye to her friends as we were also hungry and wanted to find something to eat.
As I went off to the surau to perform my prayers, hubby brought our tot to change her diapers.
Once done, I called up hubby on the mobile to locate the two.
What I found was amazing.
My tot was playing with some kids her age in a shop.
All of them had balloons in their hands so they started role-playing by using the balloons as swords. :D
As I was hungry, I told our tot that we needed to go to a restaurant to have our meal.
She said "Ok!" in a voice which only meant "I have no choice now, do I?" and said her byes to her new found friends.
At a tender age of 3, I'm unable to reason with my daughter why some kids choose not to play with her and why some kids would be more than happy to have her join them.
But as a mom, of course, it breaks my heart when I see kids pushing her away or totally ignoring her when she clearly just wants to play.
Nevertheless, I'm so happy with how my tot conducted herself (yeah, one of those good days) where she didn't throw a tantrum.
She looked so matured and I'm just truly blessed. :)

Picnic ... Kat rumah je :D
Assalamualaikum!
Pagi hari bawak budak kecik picnic kat luar rumah.
Alaaa, pergi pun dekat kawasan playground yang ada kerusi dengan meja dalam taman. :)
Suruh budak kecik pack barang masuk dalam beg.
Aih, semua jenis mainan nak dimasukkannya.
Kalau barang2 kecik tak pe jugak, ni besar gedabak yang takdenyalah boleh muat beg Ikea tu.
Kitorang pack biskut, snek, air kotak, buku mewarna, Alif Ba Ta flashcards, color pencils dan yang paling penting, coffee untuk Ummi! hehehehe
Sampai je kat taman, bentang table cloth (feeling2 picnic obersea :D ) dan susun atur sumer barang2 atas meja.
Budak kecik nak main kat playground dulu jadi pergilah dia main dulu sambil Ummi makan biskut dan minum kopi ditiup angin pagi sepoi2 bahasa (amboi, boleh tulis novel ni!).
Balik je budak kecik dari playground tu, dia pun nak makan biskut dan minum air kotak.
Habis je, kitorang go through Alif Ba Ta flash cards untuk beberapa kali.
Lepas tu dia nak mewarna.
Lepas tu kitorang melukis pulak.
Suruh budak kecik lukis apa2 yang dia nampak kat taman tu.
Yang paling senang, pokok lah kan.
Dia macam tak berapa sure nak lukis camner, Ummi pun tunjuk la sikit2.
Dia pun sambung lukis macam2 jenis pokok dan benda2 lain lagi.
Tak lama lepas tu, budak kecik tak berapa minat nak melukis dan mewarna dah, dia guna pulak color pencils tu untuk main2 dan start cakap sorang2.
Kitorang pun ada bawak buku cerita, baca jugaklah buku cerita di situ.
Dalam masa dua jam macam tu, kitorang gerak balik rumah sebab nak bawak budak kecik main kat pool pulak.
Lepas je main kat pool dalam masa sejam lebih sebab hari pun dah start panas, dia sambung pulak main air dalam bathtub.
Lepas dah lunch, budak kecik tanak tidur.
Mainlah dia kat ruang tamu.
Tak lama lepas tu, dia macam dah slow down, duduk kat sofa dan terus lentok kepala.
Tidur! :)

Sun Day Out @ The School, Jaya One
It's good to be back at The School, Jaya One.
We really love this place!
The place was buzzing with activities last weekend.
We brought our lil' toddler there to join in the fun, "Sun Day Out".
As we geared her up with a pink helmet, a purple scooter, a backpack filled with a water bottle, coloring book and color pencils, we walked into The School and headed straight to Level 1.
Other kids were already cycling in the mall whilst their parents either watching from the side or following them around.
You can either bring your own bicycle or tricycle or scooter or rollerblades.
Alternatively, you may hire any one of these bikes below for free.
It was great to see all the kids having fun and the initiative put in by The School, Jaya One, to offer kids the freedom of playing in such a huge space.
They've also prepared a mini-playground for kids, much more suitable for smaller kids who're not able to cycle yet.
What's more, kids are also entertained with a magic show and puppet show from this funny magician, Alex, with his good friend, Thomas :)
The kids really enjoyed the show as Alex brilliantly handled his crowd of young fans, even teaching them one magic trick and Thomas even said he wanted to sing a love song, called 'Twinkle Twinkle Little Star', much to the amusement of the young audience.
The School is the perfect place to hang out with your family.
On the same level as the cycling area, there's also a comfortable baby room with a diaper change facility and individual rooms to breastfeed.
A comfortable air-conditioned surau for women are located on this level (Level 1) whereas for the men is on Level G.
If you get hungry, there are a variety of restaurants and cafes around. Food trucks are readily available too, including Little Fat Duck
A great alternative to spend a "Sun Day Out" with your family. :)
